KIAM PRESSURE WASHER

How do I start my pressure washer?

Petrol Pressure washers.

Check that both oil levels in the pump & petrol engine are at the correct levels. ( Refer to Manufacturers Instruction Manual)

Ensure the transport plug has been removed from the top of the pump & replaced with the breather plug. Ensure the pressure washer is on solid, level ground.

Fill the fuel tank with Unleaded petrol.

Connect the pump inlet to a garden hose & outside tap.

Connect the pump outlet to the 10m high pressure hose using the quick-release connectors.

Connect the trigger gun & lance to the high pressure hose.

Now turn the water On.

On the engine; move the throttle lever to full (rabbit sign), move the fuel lever to On, and move the Choke lever to On.

Switch the red On/Off switch to On.

Depress and hold the trigger on the spray wand to relieve any built-up pressure within the pump and continue to hold the trigger while pulling the engine start cord.

Using the pull starter; give the recoil starter a long, strong pull to start the engine.

On Starting; insert the preferred power nozzle in the end of the lance and pull the trigger to start cleaning.

After starting the engine, regulate the choke back down to the closed position to close off the airflow to the engine.

Helpful Tips.

It is advisable, whilst pulling the pull start with one hand, to have the other hand pressing the trigger gun. his ensures there is no buildup of back pressure in the pump on start-up, as this can make the pull starting feel stiff.

Diesel Pressure washers.

Check that both oil levels in the pump & diesel engine are at the correct levels. if fitted with a gearbox Reduction system check level of oil in gearbox too. ( Refer to Manufacturers Instruction Manual)

Ensure the transport plug has been removed from the top of the pump & replaced with the breather plug. Ensure the pressure washer is on solid, level ground.

If the unit is fitted with a battery (electric start) ensure the terminal connections are tight, and the battery is fully charged.

Fill the fuel tank with diesel.

Connect the pump inlet to a garden hose & outside tap.

Connect the pump outlet to the 10m high pressure hose using the quick-release connectors.

Connect the trigger gun & lance to the high pressure hose.

Now turn the water On.

On the diesel engine; move the throttle lever to full (this can usually be locked in position), move the fuel lever to On.

Recoil Start.

Pull the recoil rope fully out - and you will see the decompression lever on the top of the engine lift up. Next, hold down the decompression lever with one hand, and pull the recoil starter; letting the decompression lever go at the same time. They usually need a strong pull to start.

Electric Key Start.

Hold down the decompression lever, and turn the start key fully over Keep the decompression lever down for a few seconds, and then allow the decompression lever up, and start. Release the key. This allows the engine to spin up freely and then start easily.

On Starting; insert the preferred power nozzle in the end of the lance and pull the trigger to start cleaning.

After starting the engine, regulate the throttle back down to the required level for smooth running.
